Rauschke is known for nature-inspired scenes, specifically from the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Wisconsin. This sculpture features several embroidered pieces by his wife Kaaren Wilken, including an insert in the lake's turtle, and underneath the lake. It also includes four drawers that hold additional pieces, and a small cave with miniature bats carved into a natural hole in the wood. The entire sculpture rises on spindly animal-like legs with cloven feet.
