Original components and connections.A field phone made in the late 1890s or early 1900s for a railroad lineman or field dispatcher, by an unknown manufacturer, possibly Western Electric. Original leather strap handle attached by screws. Original electrical components and heavy battery inside. Original crank on metal plate, brass doors and connection points in perfect working order. Includes original handwritten electrician's design instructions folded inside brass door, written on lined, holed notebook paper. The cabinet is marked with later additions of personal identifying marks. Missing the phone's Blake transmitter, or microphone.
