A gold and rock-crystal hinged bangle, by Phillips Brothers, circa 1860Set at the front with a large circular-cut rock-crystal, within a surround of gold beadwork and rope-twist decoration, with cylindrical shoulders and similarly designed clasp, the bangle of a 'bloomed' gold finish, maker's mark, inner diameter 6.5cm注脚Robert Phillips of Phillips Brothers was one of the most prominent British jewellers working in the revivalist style, known to have worked alongside Castellani and Giuliano. The Phillips Brothers firm, once located at 31 Cockspur Street, moved to 23 Cockspur Street and became known as Phillips Brothers & Son in 1869. The firm bears a distinctive mark of backed Ps with the Prince of Wales's feathers, indicative of its royal patronage.
