A Chinese famille rose baluster vase: with gilt lion dog ring handles, finely painted with figures in an interior, two scholars on a terrace with two further figures approaching, one holding a banner, a white horse beyond, all in a continuous landscape with rockwork and a large pine tree, the neck and footrim with elaborate iron-red foliate, pendant jewel and ruyi-head borders, the shoulder with oval iron-red on gilt seal mark 'Qianlong yu lan zhi bao' [Imperial Treasure viewed by Qianlong], the base with similar six-character Qianlong seal mark, Republic Period, 41 cm [rim with glaze imperfection and small chip with related hairline].
