A pair of carved cinnabar 'sages' lacquer dishes, two carved lacquer-inset table screens, and a pair of circular dishes19th/20th century
The first pair each of waisted rectangular form with canted corners, deeply carved with different scenes of scholars below a pine tree, incised lotus motifs to reverse and raised on short foot, 9.5cm long; the first screen panel carved as an Immortal riding on a lotus leaf above churning waves, mounted in a scrolling-pattern pierced wooden frame, total height 16.6cm; the second worked as two scholars in a landscape in two-colour lacquer, in scrolling-pattern frame and raised on a matching pierced wooden stand, total height 18.2cm high; the pair of circular dishes both carved all over with large lotus flowers and foliage, 16.3cm diameter.
