Formed with a deep well, raised and indented lip and sides tapering sharply inward toward the narrow foot, the russet slip along the rim mingling with the black glaze to form tiny mottled striations resembling hare's fur, the exposed fabric of lower body burnt a dark purple-brown and the recessed base inscribed with two characters reading qiu yi.
