赏析：此件刚卯白玉质地，通体红沁，方柱体，精巧端正。每面皆刻两行文字，每行四字，古人以作厌胜之用。此刚卯上的沁色经长期佩戴把玩变为红艳色泽。形制、工艺均具典型的汉代特征。东汉时刚卯必需在正月卯日制成，虽然没有纹饰，但四面一定有铭文，而且规格甚严，要雕琢四言诗，每面两句，共八个字，四面共三十二字。其作用渊源于桃符，形制则脱胎自玉方琮。自顶至底，有「通心穿」，每件长不过寸许，乃小型方柱状。当时人们盛行将其挂在革带上，以避邪、驱疫、逐鬼，亦兼作小饰物。
