The service remained in use in the royal household at the Château de Fontainebleau and various supplements were ordered until 1787. The present lot is part of a group of pieces that were added to the service in 1783 by Louis XVI, which included two beurriers.A selection of the service is now back in the collection of the Musée national du château de Fontainebleau, including a beurrier dated 1786.
