The Order of Saint Alexander Nevsky was originally established by Peter the Great. The service for 60 persons was finished at the Gardner Factory in 1780. The chief adornment of the ensemble is the eight-pointed star of the order with the motto "For Labour and Fatherland" running in a circle. In the centre is the monogram SA for Saint Alexander beneath a princely crown. The red ribbon of the order is shown fastened by the cross decorated with double-headed eagles and a depiction of the canonized 13th-century prince on horseback.
