Nine Meissen monkey band figures, second half 18th centuryModelled by Peter Reinicke and J.J. Kaendler, each on a gilt-edged scrollwork base applied with leaves and flowers, comprising: the organ player, two singers, a drummer, a flautist, two bagpipe players, a cellist and a violinist, the largest: 15cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue and blue, various impressed numerals to some (some restoration) (9)注脚The monkey band was modelled around 1753, the year that Madame de Pompadour purchased nineteen of the figures.
