A Meissen double-handled pot-pourri vase and cover, circa 1760Each side painted with a scene depicting birds in a landscape, moulded with shell- and scrollwork, the foliate handles surrounded by applied fruiting and floral branches, a winged putto below the left handle and another to the right side of the foot, the pierced cover similarly decorated and applied with a large flower and fruit finial, 38cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (some restoration) (2)注脚The model of this vase and cover may well have been part of a garniture made for Frederick the Great.
