TWO THANGKAS DEPICTING YAMANTAKA AND DOMBIHERUKA, TIBET, 19th ct., the first framed and glazed and the second mounted. Yamantaka is standing in alidhasana on various gods and animals reclining on a lotus base floating in the primordial waters, embracing his consort with his principle arms which hands hold the karttrika and kapala, the other arms radiating around him, his central face in the shape of a bull and a pair of local divinities placed in each upper corner; and the siddha standing on a tiger reclining on a lotus base, the hands holding vajra and phurbu, wearing various garments and his face depicting a wrathful expression - Property from an important South German private collection of a nobleman, starting his collection of Tibetan art in 1965, mostly purchased from Nagel and Schoettle East Asian Art, Stuttgart - Wear, partly minor damages due to age
