A FINE BRONZE FIGURE OF PADMAPANI, KASHMIR, ca. 11th ct., seated in vajrasana on a lotus base with his right hand stretched down in varadamudra while the left is resting on his hip holding the stem of the padma-lotus flowering along his upper arm, wearing dhoti, antelope-upavita draped over his left shoulder, scarf, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes and copper-inlaid lips, elongated earlobes with large ear rings, his blue colored hair combed in a chignon and secured with a diadem to its front cast with a minute Buddha figure, head and body mandorla behind, traces of gilding - Provenance: From a German private colletion, acquired on 26.05.1995 at Gallery Hardt - Minor wear
