The center belly decorated with hand-painting in cobalt blue underglaze with famous Yuan pattern "three friend floral in the winter" Pine, Plum and Cherry blossoms within interlocking vines and foliate cartouche, interspersed by further tendril foliate. Snarling huge imperial dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-Shui waves decorated on the lower belly. The geometrical pattern and floral motifs banded to the neck, shoulder and foot base. A characteristic Heaped and piled effect’, the underglaze cobalt blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black.
