19th Century Antique Large Huanghuali Chinese Chest, of rectangular form. The box is mounted with ruyi-shaped fittings, a cloud-shaped lock plate, and flanked by a pair of U-shaped handles, corners reinforcements, all in huangtong brass. The interior seem to be refinished. The Huanghuali wood displays a dense hardwood, with deep-brown strikes over golden-honey shades tone and translucent shimmering surface with abstractly figured patterns appearing like ghost faces motif.Measurements: 19-1/2" H x 40" L x 20" D
