Chinese porcelain covered box is sturdily potted in a deep vessel with rectangular construction, vertical sides elevated over a flat base. The exterior decorated with hand painting in blue underglaze of snarling dragons careening through cumulus clouds. On the top cover having similar design with double blue rings as a frame, bordered with band of key fret pattern on both rim. The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman. Mark on side lid, a horizontal six underglaze blue script -KaiShu- characters reign mark enclosed within rectangular frame, Made In The Years of Wanli Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
