Pear Chinese porcelain vase, substantial rotund body with rounded shoulders converging into a short neck, with a slightly concave foot base. All delicately in a cobalt blue hand painting in a clean white under glazed base color. The shoulder decorated in lotus blooms interspersed with foliage, vines bounded with auspicious pattern, and upturning lappets on the neck. The belly depicted in a frame the great snarling imperial five-claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds flame above thrashing Li-Shui waves to chase a flaming pearls. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity and the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons.
