Chinese Qing flame glaze porcelain amphora vase. Potted in a globular lower body, tapered gracefully toward straight tall neck leading to a slightly incurved rim, flanked with two archaic pattern handles on the neck, raised on a circle splayed foot base. Covered overall in Flambe glaze, with attractive iron red and purple-blue toward upper rim on a white porcelain body. The Iridescent blue, purple, splashes and streaks characteristic of this glaze are described as yao bian, or "transmutation glaze" and resulting from transmutation of colloidal copper, iron, or other metallic materials into suffusions breaking up the glaze surface.
