Designed to project images from glass plate slides, with different lenses available to reproduce clear images of varying sizes. Produced in cast aluminum for lighter weight. Utilizes 3" x 4" Magic Lantern glass slides, of which two are included in original cast metal housing. Original manufacturer's nameplate missing the left half; complete, it reads: VICTOR PORTABLE STEREOPTICON, MODEL 2, SERIAL NO. 14036, PATENTED MAY 27, 1913, JANUARY 6, 1914. VICTOR ANIMATOGRAPH CO. DAVENPORT, IOWA, U.S.A. Attached to circular, felt lined base.
