Very Large and Impressive Malachite Intarsia Box


This is a large scale, impressive intarsia box, formed of malachite sections from the Democratic Republic of Congo, The sides of the box are 3/4 inches thick. with gilt-metal thumbpiece and floral decoration to the four corners, raised on four lion's paw feet. The hinged lid, opening to reveal a gold chain which secures it from opening too far. Measuring 12 x 9 x 6 in
