Qing Dynasty, of upright rectangular section, carved around the sides with chilong amidst ruyi shaped clouds, the stone of a rich golden amber color with characteristic veins, inscription and 'shou tie' on one side, theseal face carved in positive script with seven characters(A day of leisure and a day of immortality). Height 2 1/2 in., 6.5 cm. Weight 3.6 oz, 103g. Provenance: Republican period collector He Tianjian(1891-1977), aprivate Japanese collector and John Lee(purchased in 1962 in Japan). John Lee, a dedicated seal collector residing in Atlanta GA, has travelled to many Asian countries since the 60s, where he acquired manyexquisite and antique seal chops. Lot 9-12 are four representatives of his exceptional collection.
