A rare and small Elizabeth I/James I polychrome-decorated boarded oak box, circa 1600-1620


The sloping lid with applied edge mouldings enclosing an interior fitted with a till with punch-decorated, line-carved and moulded pin-hinged cover, above three short drawers, the exterior painted with red, green and white flowers against a white ground, the reverse with a red carnation and a white rose, 27cm wide x 20cm deep x 18.5cm high, (10 1/2in wide x 7 1/2in deep x 7in high)
