建窯油滴盞是北宋時期的文物，建盞多是口大底小，形如漏斗，圈足較淺。造型古樸渾厚，手感普遍較沉。本件油滴盞的釉面密佈著銀灰色金屬光澤的小圓點兒，直徑從數毫米之微至針尖大小，形似油滴。「油滴」的形成其實是鐵氧化物在釉面富集，冷卻後以赤鐵礦和磁鐵礦的形式從中析出晶體所致。宋人製作的黑釉茶盞極具藝術表現力，本器敞口、斜腹、矮圈足，色似墨玉，彩如夜空，通過窯火的自然造化，在黑色釉面上產生鐵結晶花紋，絲絲入扣，變化萬千，具有極高的觀賞品位，也是當時最上乘的茶具之一，收藏價值極高。［參閱］紐約佳士得，2017/9/14，Lot1155，南宋建窯油滴盞，D 12.4cm，成交價USD 250,000。
