A Chinese group of 4 calligraphies in ink on paper by Zhang Jian. It has 1 seal and is mounted on a paper backing and framed. Dimensions are: 13 inches tall X 16 inches wide, while the frame measures 14 3/4 inches tall X 20 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is significant spotting, especially to the backing. Provenance: From the estate of Yang Pusheng (1879-1949). Yang Pusheng was the founder and principal of the Huzhou Luhu School, as well as the founder of the Central Committee of Tongmenghui, a leader of Guangfu Shanghai, an outstanding political activist in the Xinhai period, and a revolutionary patriot.
