A painting in watercolor and ink on silk attributed to Wang Meng with comments by Li Pinxian. The painting has 6 seals and a signature, the paper backing has 1 seal and the description. Both are mounted on a silk backing. Dimensions are: 26 inches tall X 12 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There are large areas of repairs and the silk is stained with age. Provenance: From the estate of General Li Pingxian (1890-1987). During the Northern Expedition, he served as the commander of the Eighth Army of the National Revolutionary Army, the Chief of Staff of the Fourth Group Army, and concurrently the Commander-in-Chief of the Three Towns of Wuhan. In his military career, he fought in major battles including the Battle of Shanghai, the Battle of Xuzhou, the Battle of Taierzhuang and the Battle of Wuhan.
