In 1916, Liu Zhendong entered the preparatory course of Peking University Law School. In the fall of 1920, Liu Zhendong finished his doctorate in economics at Columbia University.Upon his return to China in 1927, Liu Zhendong served as professor and department head of the Department of Economics of the National Central University in Nanjing. In 1941, Liu Zhendong served as a member and secretary general of the National Monopoly Design Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the National Government.
