A Chinese lacquer scholar's box inlaid with mother of pearl flowers, fruit, and birds dating from the 17th to the 18th century. The base is decorated with lotus tracery, while the front features 5 figures playing in a garden. There are 4 drawers inside the 2 front doors and an additional compartment in the lid. Dimensions are: 14 1/2 inches tall X 14 1/4 inches wide X 11 inches deep. All measurements are approximate.
