A Chinese gilt bronze Buddha dating from the Ming dynasty. The Buddha sits on a double lotus base, and holds a bowl of medicine in his left hand while making a blessing with his right. The top and base are separate and the base is mounted on a wooden stand. Dimensions are: 17 1/4 inches tall X 11 1/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The Buddha shows wear to the gilt and oxidation to the metal. Provenance: From a Santa Cruz, CA collector, whose parents were Asian antiques dealers in Sweden prior to the 1980s.
