A Chinese lang or oxblood red glazed bowl dating from the Kangxi period. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 inches tall X 8 7/8 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The glaze is crackled with age, there are hairline cracks in the rim, and 2 chip in the rim, the larger of which measures 1/2 inch. There is a star crack in the bottom and abrasions to the surface. Provenance: From a Northwest US collector, whose parents accumulated the collection while living in Shanghai from the 1930s to 1950s and in Hong Kong and Taiwan in the 1950s and 1960s.
