A Chinese ceramic figure of a horse and rider dating from the Tang dynasty. Dimensions are: 12 1/2 inches tall X 15 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The figure has breakage and repairs, in addition to age appropriate wear. Provenance: From the collection of Jerrold Schecter. Mr. Schecter has had a distinguished career as a journalist for The Wall Street Journal and Time Magazine, serving as Times bureau chief in Tokyo from 1964-1968, Moscow 1968-1970 and the White House, 1971-1973.
