A Chinese wooden table screen with four famille rose porcelain plaques depicting figures in a landscape and dating from the early 20th century. Dimensions are: 7 3/4 inches tall X 4 3/4 inches wide for each plaque, each panel measures 12 1/4 inches tall X 6 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The table screen has loose hinges, broken tracery in the skirts, and minor abrasions. Provenance: From the estate of Dr. Max Gentry, a medical doctor and missionary sent to Chongqing, China in 1925. He was there until 1938. Dr. Gentry, along with Dr. James McCartney, established the first western hospital in Chongqing: Kuan Ren Hospital.
