by William Ker Reid, London 1826 Lobed square form, with foliate handles, engraved with the arms for Davies DAVENPORT (1757-1837), length 25cm, weight 72oz. (2)
|The arms are for Davies DAVENPORT (1757-1837), the only son and heir of Davies DAVENPORT (1723-1757) of Capesthorpe Hall, Cheshire by Phoebe DAVENPORT (1735-57) daughter of Richard DAVENPORT (1705-71) of Calveley Hall, Cheshire and Phoebe BAGNALL (born 1710). The DAVENPORT family inherited the manor of Calveley after a marriage 1369 from the CALVELEY family. Davies DAVENPORT (1723-1757) was the son of Davies DAVENPORT (1696-1740) by Penelope WARD (died 1737) the daughter and heir of John WARD (1670-1748) of Capesthorpe Hall and Monkwearmouth, Cheshire by Thomazia TERRICK. Davies DAVENPORT (1757-1837) married in 1777 Charlotte SNEYD (1756-1829) the daughter of Ralph SNEYD (1723-93) of Keele Hall, Staffordshire by Barbara BAGOT (1725-96), he was MP for Cheshire 1806-30.
