Some browning to margins.West Australian was a British thoroughbred racehorse active from 1852-54, generally accepted as the first Triple Crown Winner. After losing his initial race, he won the next nine, including the 2000 Guineas, Derby, and St Leger (all of which are celebrated in this print). The text adds that he is owned by John B. Bowes, Esq., trained by John Scott, and ridden by Frank Butler.
