William IV Mahogany-veneered Brass-inlaid Secretary Bookcase, England, early 19th century, upper section with brass-inlaid molded cornice and two glazed doors opening to interior with two adjustable shelves, lower section with a drawer with lion's-head pulls opening to a desk with eight satinwood-faced drawers and seven pigeonholes, leather writing surface, two brass-inlaid doors open to interior with one fixed shelf, squared base, ht. 96, wd. 47, dp. 21 3/4, writing surface ht. 32, upper section shelf dp. 11, lower section shelf dp. 19 in. Estimate $2,000-3,000 Scattered repairs to veneer. Upper case with repair to cornice, to case at lower left hinge, tight crack in right glass. Lower case with warped panel on left door, lifting of brass inlay on right.
