This group of Chinese silk garments from the 19th century includes: a blue ground shirt embroidered with flowers and butterflies and ornately stitched sleeves with people; an unfinished silk sleeve patch embroidered with butterflies; a round panel embroidered with auspicious symbols in the forbidden stitch; a purple ground vest embroidered with dragons and children; and a yellow skirt embroidered with scholars items and flowers. Dimensions are: for the shirt 50 inches wide X 24 1/2 inches long and for the skirt 36 1/2 inches long X 86 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: All pieces have evidence of mild wear, staining, and fading. The round embroidered panel has an area with burn damage. The vest and skirt have missing pieces and some tears.
