A framed Xiang needlework of a vase and flowers. The flowers are embroidered, and the vase is decorated with 2 red dragons against a green wave motif background. Dimensions are: 16 1/2 inches tall X 7 1/2 inches wide. The frame measures 21 1/2 inches tall X 10 1/2 inches wide. A framed Xiang needlework of a bird on a branch amongst flowers. Dimensions are: 16 1/2 inches tall X 12 1/2 inches wide for the textile. The frame measures 24 inches tall X 19 3/4 inches wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One has light discoloration on the vase, otherwise in good condition. The other is in good condition. Provenance: From the estate of a Silver Spring, Maryland woman whose father was Yu Jishi, a top Nationalist general and a close confidant of Chiang Kai-shek.
