Chinese trousse set of chopsticks, a pickle spear, and a knife housed within a chicken wing wood sheath from the 19th century. It has a round stone toggle and the sheath is decorated with embossed metalwork. Dimensions are: 10 3/4 inches long X 5/8 of an inch wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The sheath has age wear, but the set is complete. Provenance: From an estate in the Washington, D.C. area. The family lived in Shanghai, China during the 1930s and 1940s while working for the Standard Oil Company. They left China in 1949 during the Communist takeover.
