Qianlong mark, Republic periodMolded in high relief with animal head and mock ring handles at the shoulder, painted in shades of deep cobalt blue with wave and stiff-leaf bands on the waisted neck, consecutive bands of classic lotus flowers and composite blossoms on densely leafed scrolls above a wide wave band encircling the ovoid body and a flower-head lappet band along the tall foot, the recessed base bearing the six-character seal mark in cobalt and all surfaces except the foot pad covered with a colorless glaze. 20 1/8in (51cm) high
