Two carved monochrome glass snuff bottles


19th centuryThe first a transparent green bottle, carved in the form of a caparisoned elephant with its head turned back, the feet of the elephant forming the foot, the details finely incised; the second a ruby-red bottle surmounted with two dramatic lion masks on the narrow sides, each mask with carefully defined mane, and suspending a knock ring from the beast's mouth.2 5/8 and 2 1/2in (6.7 and 6.4cm) high
