Two fine porcelain snuff bottles


Imperial, Guangxu marks and of the period, 1875-1908The first an oval bottle painted in gilt to the front and back with an energetic dragon grasping a pearl between a key-fret border surrounding the neck and vertical lappets above the foot ring enclosing the four-character mark in regular script; the second a flattened globular bottle, one side painted with hawks in flight or perching on a pine tree, the reverse depicting two peacocks by rocks under a blooming flower tree, the underside inscribed with the four-character mark in seal script. 2 3/8 and 2 1/4in (6 and 5.7cm) high
