Guyue Xuan marks, 19th/early 20th centuryThe first an ovoid bottle painted with a placid garden with exotic birds around a wutong tree sheltering over blooming flowers and a rocky outcropping; the second a rounded bottle, painted in matte enamels on one side with a young boy pointing at the sun in front of a bearded official figure in a landscaped garden, the corner inscribed zhiri fengjiang (Being appointed to an important post is imminent), the reverse depicting birds and a fruiting pomegranate branch issuing behind rocks ; each bottle inscribed with a Guyue Xuan mark in iron-red to its base. 2 1/4in (5.7cm) height of each bottle
