Magnificent Gem-Set Obelisk Jewelry Box by Manfred Wild

Designed as a flower-decorated, 18K yellow gold open-work obelisk, supporting 64 amethyst and ametrine carved flowers, each set with 18K yellow gold stamens terminating in prong-set Mandarin garnets or in 24 small cultured pearls. A large natural citrine, virtually optically clear and measuring 120 mm in diameter, serves as a connector. The base, which is further decorated with forty-four amethyst and ametrine flowers, is formed as a three-tiered arrangement with drawers of polished rock crystal quartz, in graduated sizes, each opening to reveal a red velvet lined interior suitable for the storage of jewelry and precious objects. The surmount, (which revolves when gentle pressure is applied), is formed as a spray of gold wires representing stamens, each terminating in a prong-set Mandarin garnet. This is an exceptional example of the design and craftsmanship of Manfred Wild for the serious collector of Lapidary Arts.
