Loomes 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World Vol. 2' as free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1783 and was working throughout the first quarter of the 19th century. In 1790 he was at 4 White Lion Court and by 1798 he had moved to 4 Sweetings Alley. During the early 19th century his workshop was based at 1 Windsor Place, St Pauls.
