金银错工艺最早始见于商周时代的青铜器，其表现手法为在器物表面上绘出精美图案，依图案之形錾出槽沟，将纯金或纯银拉成细丝或压成薄片嵌入图案中，而后打磨平整，抛光磨亮。金银错工艺的金、银丝全部是打、压嵌入器物表面，不能用任何粘贴剂，所以既要图案线条流畅，又要开槽精度准确，镶嵌平整，对丝无痕。这件手串即是采用错金工艺，在直径为18mm的玉珠之上，错金为四组团寿纹及两组莲瓣纹，线条规整，具金质玉相之美。张振兴：新疆工艺 美术大师，师从中国工艺美术大师马进贵。
