紫砂洋桶壶自清末民初创制以来，以其造型简练，使用方便，是宜把玩，便于提携，便于茗泡而一度盛行。此件洋桶壶，紫泥制成，通体施加天蓝釉。壶身采用开光的手法，以白釉饰以山水图，另一面则绘诗文。配色简练大方，绘画雅典，配以藤绳纹编织的软耳提梁，便于使用。整器的设计制作大气古朴，功味俱到，是一件将实用与美感二合一作品。
