A PARCEL GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, CHINA, late Ming dynasty, seated in vajrasana on a plinth, the sole of his left foot incised with the cakra, his right hand showing the bhumiparshamudra while the left is raised in front of the abdomen, wearing various garments, including a wide-sleeved mantle, his chest incised with the swastika-emblem, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, urna, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, his curled hair and ushnisha decorated with a ratna to the front - Provenance: Old German private collection, since the 19th ct. in the collection of the family of the present owner - Minor wear
