A rare and large Chinese porcelain flask with two pairs of dragon shaped loop handles, decorated in underglaze blue, with a three-clawed dragon on each side and 'cloud collars' with birds and foliage, the sides with ruyi-shaped panels wherein flowers. Yuan 1280–1368. H. 33 cm. Provenance: Bought by present owner in a Danish antique gallery c. 1980.A unique form of the Yuan dynasty. Similar at the Victoria & Albert Museum (C.47–1935). The museum noted that only seven flasks of this shape were known to exist.
