Meiji era (1868-1912), probably mid-late 19th/early 20th centuryBoth possibly representing Kagura masks, the larger mask with a wide-open grinning mouth and protruding tongue loosely patterned after the Noh mask Shishiguchi, 22.5cm x 17.1cm (8 7/8in x 6¾in); the second smaller mask with emaciated cheeks and similar puckered lips of the Kyogen mask Usofuki, 18.3cm x 13.5cm (7¼in x 5¼in).
