The porcelain 18th century, the pewter fittings 19th centuryEach vessel formed as a recumbent toad, with the large head turned upwards and with bulging eyes, the exterior embellished with small slip-decorated bosses mimicking a warty skin, fitted at the aperture with pewter mounts with a crab and spider, the pad-form lid with a toad finial, an armorial appliqué at the chest.Each: 28cm (11in) long (4).
