Vase, Japan, probably Arita (Imari), Meiji / early 20th c., With manuscript. Signature in reddish brown on the underside of the ground, handling of dragon-like mythical creatures with split tail. Very filigree, gold-raised red painting (Aka-e), one of the two gold-framed cartridges shows two lions, the other a phoenix and a kind deer. The neck shows varying cartridges with bird and plant motifs. H. 38 cm
